The Class: 

​​This course combines Lamaze-based ideas with spinning babies, evidence-based birth, and years of doula experience to help you fully prepare for childbirth. The goal of this class is for each couple to leave feeling prepared with tools to work through labor and postpartum. This class is a good fit for any/all birth plans! Our goal is to help you have the tools you need to achieve the birth you are hoping for. You will leave class with a binder of resources and information to help you as you prepare!
Some of the topics we cover include: 
  • Preparing for a home or hospital birth
  • Stages of labor/ways to help labor progress
  • When to head to your birthplace/benefits of laboring at home
  • Creating a birth plan
  • Coping techniques and comfort measures
  • Fetal positioning (avoiding back labor)
  • Hands-on positioning for labor and pushing
  • Possible interventions
  • Evidence-Based informed decision making
  • Practice scenarios for birth
  • ​Breastfeeding
  • Preparing for Postpartum

The Details:
Who: Couples wanting to prepare well for labor, birth, and postpartum! We cap the class at 8 couples to ensure everyone has a chance to ask questions. 

When: March 2nd and 9th, 2023 from 6-9 pm

Cost: $200 per couple

***Please note that 10% of your fee goes toward the Little Hands and Feet Scholarship fund. This fund helps others take the class at a discounted rate.**

The Instructors

Julia is a birth doula, midwife assistant, midwifery student, and childbirth educator. Julia has attended about 200 births over the last 7 years. She is a mom to four little boys and loves to spend time with her family. When not attending births, Julia can usually be found on hikes with her family or drinking coffee and reading a good book!

Danielle Davidson has her masters in community counseling and substitute teaches at a local Montessori school. Danielle has four children, two of which were born at home. Her unique experiences in counseling, teaching, and her own birth experiences have well equipped her to teach others. When not teaching or counseling, Danielle loves to go for runs, swim, care for her chickens, and spend time outdoors with her children.
