Hi! My name is Julia Davidson. I am passionate about walking through pregnancy, birth and postpartum with mothers and their families. This passion has been birthed in me through some of my unique life experiences.
After graduating university with a degree in social work, my husband and I moved to Beijing, China. We lived there for three years and taught ESL to middle and high school students. From there we moved to Minnesota!
We now have three little boys with lots of energy. Each of their birth stories have encouraged me in my work as a doula to continue to support other mothers. My first son was born in a hospital in Beijing. This was a very difficult experience for me. We had little support, a lack of resources and minimal encouragement along the journey of pregnancy, birth and postpartum. With the birth of our second, my husband and I welcomed a doula onto our team, and we were given the support that we needed.
It was after his birth that I decided to pursue training through DONA international to become a doula. I wanted to combine my love of social work and birth in hopes to support families in the same way that we had been supported.
My husband and I hired a doula for the birth of our third son as well. Each of their births were so different and taught me so much about myself and the unpredictable birth process. It is truly a joy to continue learning and supporting other families.
I desire to be a life long learner to best support my clients!

When I'm not attending births I love to be at home with my family or traveling the world. I enjoy running, painting, drinking coffee, reading a good book and cooking! My family is still fairly new to the twin-cities so we are often out exploring or trying to find places to stay warm!
I completed birth doula training through DONA international in 2016
I completed an extra breastfeeding education course in 2016.
