What is a birth philosophy?
A birth philosophy is the way you think about birth, and how you believe a woman can work through labor.
There are so many different ideas and voices telling women what the “perfect birth” looks like. As a doula I desire to support, educate and equip women to bring their babies into the world. I do believe that babies are a precious gift and that what works for the birth of each child is unique.
I aim to support each birth through its own twists, turns and challenges. I listen to the mother's wants and needs during labor. I am always looking for ways to help and teach the partner to support the mother.
I think education, preparation and support make a huge difference in childbirth. I am always seeking to learn more for my clients and give them the best evidenced based research.
Going through any life change is made easier when you have people walking along side you. My role is to walk with you, support you, and rejoice with you as your child is born.
I want to walk alongside women who......
want to birth in a hospital, at a birth center, or at home;
want no meds, want all the meds, or want to find out in labor;
have a supportive husband, mother, sister, friend or no one at all;
need a quiet presence and/or a strong advocate;
desire physical support, emotional support, and/or words of affirmation
are bringing a beautiful new life into the world.
"Before I formed you in the womb, I knew you, before you were born I set you apart."
